Global Hair & Fashion Group:  In a New York State of Mind
Elizabeth Stenstrom, of L Salon & Color Group, in San Mateo, California and several U.S. members of the renowned Global Hair & Fashion Group took a "City Scape" recently, relying on New York City as inspiration for their latest collection: “
New
York  Inspirations". Knowing that New Yorkers can take any influence and make it their own affordably and fashionably, the team tapped that vibe, creating accessible and authentically American styles that feature individual adaptability.

Seven super-stylists who hail from far-flung States red and blue took part in creating the group's first joint style statement, so it naturally features another element of leading-edge style: the incorporation of local flavor. In this collection, bold new crops and bobs of the moment show off everything from Southern charm to California cool. Strong accentuation is balanced with the subtle use of color, texture meets incredible sheen and hair that looks like it never sleeps banishes the outmoded "bed-head" for what every woman wants right now: sustainable style.  The collection also provides an edgy answer to the question, "What comes after the bob?" Angles and asymmetry, fewer blunt lines and movement that take interiors from entirely solid to straight-up sexy are all part of the looks.

Like the city that inspired them, the styles get real with wear ability. Even the shortest cut in the collection is softened with layers that allow either a voluminous finish or a sleek style. Color is healthy and luminous because real women don't want to get their freak on with shades that scream. The cuts' strong lines make them easy to work with at home, while inner details adjust to any facial shape and allow style-shifts that go from Uptown glam to Downtown chic-all it takes is a blower, a brush and a different styling product.

The New York inspirations are as comfortable at the fundraising benefit as they are at the high-school soccer game, which is perhaps, the most important aspect of American style today. In tapping influences that are global and reinterpreting them for what's local, the team underscores their mission: to let every women have a piece of Big Apple style, while adding a little bite that's entirely her own.
